How To Choose A CD Duplication Company
Whether you need a few hundred CDs or DVDs or a few thousand, it's important to choose the right company to help you with this process. A CD Duplication company has all the necessary equipment to produce high quality CDs or DVDs with professional artwork to make your discs really shine.
First, understand the difference between CD duplication. The two processes provide similar results, but differ in the quantity of CDs or DVDs you can copy and the methods used. For instance, if you need a few hundred DVDs, then DVD duplication will suffice. Duplication is the process in which the data is burned onto a recordable disc's surface. Replication, however, uses a glass master copy to stamp data onto the CDs or DVDs. Quantities for CD or DVD duplication are usually between five hundred and a thousand, while replication is used for quantities of more than a thousand. You can even make a million copies using CD duplication!
If you only need a hundred or so CDs or DVDs, consider purchasing your own duplicator. Duplicators can range in price anywhere from a few hundred to two thousand dollars depending on the features, quality, and brand. This can help if you own a company or franchise and need to make copies for employees. Churches and non-profit organizations also find these to be handy for copying low-quantity items.
Choose a Company that Meets Your Needs
When choosing a CD duplication company, be sure the company offers all the services you'll need from start to finish at a reasonable price. Some companies will do CD mastering, replication, and design for you. There are brokers that merely work as a middle man between you and the CD duplication company. Brokers can be helpful if you're just starting out and have a really big project to complete. There are also manufacturers that outsource the replication work to other smaller companies.
Probably the best solution if you want very professional service is to choose a company that specializes in CD mastering, CD design, and CD duplication. A specialist can help you determine the best route for duplicating your CDs or DVDs and how to choose the proper design for your CDs and packaging. Some companies will even create artwork for you. This is a big plus because you won't have to hire a graphic artist separately. You can complete the whole process professionally using a single company.
Locating a Vendor
There are several ways to find CD duplication specialists. You can contact those in your own city to compare their offerings and pricing. If you live in a small town, you might have to travel a good distance to the next largest city to find a CD duplication company. Or, you can benefit now from online services and never have to leave the office. Working with an online vendor can save you time and money. You can also check out what they offer and their pricing easily by surfing their website.
If you have the financial means, be sure to opt for higher quantities to get great discounts per CD. This will save you money in the long run and allow you to make higher profits when selling your CDs or DVDs.
If you're in the music industry, motivational speaking, or need cd duplication for other purposes, use the tips above to carefully choose a CD duplication company that's right for you!
Save Money and Time with CD DVD Duplication
Technology has been flourishing in recent years, perhaps due to the immense growth of the Internet. Many service providers such as DVD duplication services have emerged. To the consumer, this is great news, for these service providers offer excellent services at reasonable prices.
The traditional way of sourcing for reliable DVD replicators is no longer practical. People used to source for quotations the slow way, using contacts from trade or industry directories. This process is slow and cumbersome. On the Internet, everything moves at unbelievable speed. You will be able to contact various vendors, and have your deal firmed up in a matter of hours.
The primary reason why you should look into DVD duplication services is because it helps to save time and money. If you have ever tried duplicating CDs or DVDs at home, you know that the process can take a long time. Imagine having to copy the content from one disc to another. If you need anything more than 50 copies, you will surely need professional help. Besides, the professionals can do a much better job at making duplicates. The quality is so good that you may not even be able to tell the difference between copy and original!
Such services divide their offers into two broad categories – short run duplication, or large run replication. Short run means you need a smaller number of copies (usually below 500). The entire order can be filled much faster, and the price per copy is definitely cheaper than what you pay for if you attempt to do this by yourself. If you are a product publisher with a small customer base, this is the perfect package for you.
The other service, which is the large run replication service, is for larger orders (usually above 1000 pieces). The order may take a little longer to fill since it involves more copies. But the price per unit is lower because of the volume. This service is ideal for publishers with a larger customer base. With a lower cost per unit price, the margins are higher and publishers can enjoy more profits.
In addition, professional service providers also offer value added services such as design and printing, audio mastering, and DVD authoring. That means you don’t have to lift a finger to do the “grunt work”. Leave it to the professionals. They have the expertise and the experience to ensure that your project turns out to be a huge success.
Try to spend more time on the design and printing aspect. The packaging is important because it helps with your marketing. Your goal is to do such a good job that your customers remember the work that you have done. For sure, you don’t want them to remember you for shoddy work. So make sure that the design looks clean and professional. The marketing experts call this “branding”.
Finally, make sure that the vendor you choose don’t charge you extra for over-runs or full-color on-disc replication printing. There should also not be any hidden costs, and all costs must be made known to you up-front. Once you are sure of that, you may go ahead and place your order.

Stochastic printing vs. Conventional offset Printing
Stochastic printing vs. Conventional offset Printing
Computer-To-Plate technology utilizing a different technique for printing halftones known as Frequency Modulation (FM) screening, or stochastic printing. Conventional offset screening, or Amplitude Modulation is certainly better, especially when higher line screens of 175 to 200 are used in halftone and four color CMYK process printing.
The best way to define stochastic printing is to compare it to conventional offset printing.
In conventional offset printing, images are printed using grid-like screens that separate the image into evenly space dots that are larger in size in the darker areas and smaller in size in the light areas. In four color process printing, separate screens are used to reproduce each of the four colors, black, cyan, magenta and yellow.
In stochastic printing, images are printed by dots spread randomly throughout the image area. The dots are not equally spaced and aligned in a row or grid and they vary according to the tonal value to be reproduced. The lighter areas have few dots, the darker areas have more dots.
Printing with stochastic screening offers the advantages of less ink on the sheet, can reproduce too much detail; grain of image’s photographic film can become visible, imperfection in flesh tones are more visible, holding a small dot is a great challenge on press, very unforgiving on press, tighter controls have to be implemented, 20% more dot gain than conventional, proofing is difficult.
Conventional offset screens have the advantages of greater latitude of changing color density on press, more forgiving halftone reproduction, better printing of large amounts of ink on paper and better production of one and two color printing. Metallic or opaque ink halftones have larger impact and works better for skin tones.
